Eminem ignites the Super Bowl stage with a controversial gesture

During his performance at the Super Bowl, Eminem made a strong gesture that caused a buzz. We tell you more in this article.

On the night of Sunday February 13 to Monday February 14, you may have watched the 56th edition of the Super Bowl... The championship final, organized by the National Football League, pitted the Cincinatti Bengals against the Los Angeles Rams. A match that was won by the Los Angeles Rams who won 23-20 at home. And like every year, there is an event that is highly anticipated during the Super Bowl: it's halftime, where the NFL always offers an impressive program. This year, Dr. Dre, Snoop Dogg, Kendrick Lamar, Mary J. Blige and Eminem made the show!

And the least we can say is that they really ignited the Super Bowl scene! Dr Dre and Snoop Dogg both sang The Next Episode, before performing Tupac's California Love as a duet. For his part, 50 cent performed his first hit, In Da Club. And for the occasion, he replayed the famous scene from his clip where he plays sports, upside down. Which earned him some mockery on the web, since the rapper has changed a lot since the time his clip was shot. As for Mary J.Blige, she sang two of her essential titles which are Family Affair and No More Drama.

The show then ended with the performance of Eminem. And the rapper interpreted, Lose Yourself which is part of the soundtrack of his film, 8 Mile. The public was then in madness! And Eminem took the opportunity to make a strong message... At the end of his performance, he knelt down, lowering his head!

A reference to the gesture of Colin Kaepernick, an activist quarterback who protested in 2016, during the American anthem, against racist police violence in the United States. And while rumors swirled that the NFL banned Eminem from making the militant gesture, the league quickly denied it. While specifying that they have no problem with this gesture, despite its political dimension.
